The Ranches at Five Pine Mesa is a gated wilderness recreation community located in the foothills of the Flat Top Mountains and bordering the Routt National Forest. Owners enjoy hiking, fishing, horse-back and ATV riding, elk and deer hunting, cookouts, camping, and climbing in the Flat Tops Wilderness Area.

A full range of Colorado high country wildlife can also be experienced. On site, full time, Caretaker and Security services are provided by the Association. The property is within an hours drive of the Vail Valley and Steamboat Springs, seven miles off of Colo. State Highway 131.  Ten properties comprise over 1200 acres. Seven homes/guest houses plus a community barn and guest house are currently built. The property is high alpine forest with a diverse mix of Aspen, Blue and Engelmann Spruce, Sub-Alpine fir and Lodge pole Pine trees. There are also ponds, lakes, and alpine meadows.  The property has 360 deg views of surrounding mountains and forest areas. The elevation ranges from 9000-9500 feet.  Climate is generally mild in the 70’s in the summer and in the spring and fall 40’s-60’s.  Annual precipitation is 15-20 inches per year.  Snow cover is generally 100+ inches December thru April. Winter drive in access is possible but needs to be pre-arranged. Generally the road into the property is allowed to snow shut and snow mobile access takes over around Jan. 1st to April 15th.
